Kochadaiiyaan is a 2014 Indian epic biographical film written and directed by Rajinikanth.The film, which was announced in September 2012, was produced by the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. Karunanidhi's son and DMK Working President M. K. Stalin and is the first film bearing Rajinikanth's name in the credits as director since 1997's Chandramukhi.[1] The filming began in November 2012 and has been filmed for 120 days in multiple locations around Chennai including Ooty and Sri Lanka (near Galle). The film released worldwide on 12 June 2014 with the dubbed Telugu version releasing in Andhra Pradesh. The film is considered to be the most expensive Indian film ever made. The music for the film was composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics by Vairamuthu, while cinematography was handled by Velraj and editing by Anthony. The Telugu version is titled కొచ్చ త అమ్మ (Kochadaiiyaan Amma). On 3 March 2014, the film's teaser trailer was released and received good response from critics and audience alike. The trailer of the film was revealed on 30 March 2014.The trailer of the Telugu dubbed version was released on 10 April 2014, while the Hindi version released on 12 April 2014. Translated Dialogues "Kochadaiyaan" is a Tamil word, which means "a brave warrior" and his name spelt in Kannada as "Kochu Daidaiya". The title is a reference to Rajinikanth's father Krishnaswamy N. Chettiar who fought against British rule in India with others in Kochi during 1918. Dr. Vishwanath (Rajinikanth) is the son of a respected lawyer, who is an atheist. He falls in love with a Brahmin girl Kannamma (Deepika Padukone). Dr. Vishwanath joins work in his father's office along with his cousin Dr. Ashokan (Aadhi Pinisetty). One day, he was asked to bring coffee for his father, immediately after the prescribed time set by him. Due to being busy in the court, he got late in bringing coffee for his father. At home, he scolded him and asked him to leave the house forever for being so slow in bringing coffee. Dr. Vishwanath got angry after being scolded by his father. He went to his friend's house for getting some solitude. But he found out that all the family members of his friend had left the house too after the death of his father, except for his unmarried sister Dr. Anjali (Vijayashanti). He felt sorry about what happened to them and felt that he had nothing to do with them. One day on the street, he saw a teashop owned by Dr. Anjali's younger brother named Kunchu (Dharmajan) where he came across her.
